Eek! No. This stuff has the potential for some great cinematic output. It’s just a matter of how it’s done. And I trust The Story Group at this point. They’re building out the SW film universe/galaxy. They should be going backwards and forwards, like Tolkien did. The Silmarillion, Godfather 2, Fuller’s Hannibal, and Wi

“Pretty much immediately you’re drawn in and you no longer care that there’s no X-wings or TIE fighters.”

For them to commit to a trilogy feels very substantial. I’d lean towards something that explores “new” territory while providing significant backstory/context/connective tissue for existing and future films and canon stories.

Sure. I feel you on how annoying/horrible the appearances you listed are. BUT all of the instances you listed were pre-Disney, under the guidance of “the Maker” George Lucas. In the main, this sort of thing is much less apparent in the post-Disney era. For example, I’ve been surprised at what a big fan of the canon

One can hope. But alas, I’m nutty for trying to apply rational conjecture to Hollywood business deals.

That Hashtag Show reports Millie Bobbie Brown has been offered the role of Jill Pole in the latest Narnia film.

That sounds scarily like what has happened with Feige over at Marvel Studios. And I can’t believe that Marvel Proper could do anything so rational.

It’s cute how there’s even a remote expectation of a coherent timeline in the FoX-men productions.

Given the recent casting announcement of the Von Strucker twins, maybe this is Sinster/scientist exploring a particularly powerful lineage. In The Gifted, the Struckers/Von Struckers are like the Summers and Greys.

I’ve been checking out the commentary here, but I think the one thing that I haven’t seen named flat-out here yet (or maybe missed?) is the key difference between Disney/Marvel Studios and WB/DC.

Bet you remember this bullshit loud and clear though. I couldn’t forget if I tried...

Only the ones the public will see or are meant to consume. It’s like expecting the the FBI to create logos for serial killers or terrorists they’re hunting / surveilling / investigating.

Except it’s not just the simple existence of a post-credits scene in a film that is the alleged “Marvel style” here, but instead it’s the use of such a scene(s) to build anticipation for the next film in its cinematic universe.

I figured that the Struckers are related to the Von Struckers, since Polaris foreshadows that the Strucker kids are more powerful than their usual refugees and Dr. Campbell’s ears perked up when he heard Sentinel Services came across the Strucker kids. Also, Campbell got all giddy in the first episodes when he found

GI Joe blended with Nerf years ago...

I’d much rather they did The Silmarillion, which would benefit from the breathing space.

In further Star Wars news,

Eh. It could go a billion different ways. For all we know, the twist is that she’s the kid of random nobodies freaked out by their daughter’s power that almost ends up killing someone. They dump her for safety.
