The “background” part of that is what makes it more egregious, though. The article only touches on it, but the faces on the background of the shirt are stolen, as well.

Agreed. The faces in the background are also very clearly similar to her work (if not exact copies). I think that makes it more obviously than just the words and font.
Ha ha! That would be quite hilarious.
I should probably learn to be more assertive and say something along those lines - I’m always afraid of being perceived as rude. Of course, pointing out that something was actually your idea is not rude at all, I’m just not sure how well-received it would be in this particular group.
That is really frustrating. I work on a small team with two men and one woman. The woman believes that sexism is over (she actually believes that white men have it tougher than those from other groups), so she’s obviously no help. I’ve just resigned myself to knowing I won’t be given credit for my ideas in this…
I’m in NE Ohio and I hear B-Dubs more often than BW3, though I do hear both. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone in/from the area actually call it Buffalo Wild Wings, though I heard it called that by my friends in DC when I lived there.
I agree that it’s B-Dubs, but it actually opened in Ohio, not Minnesota. (Sources: The B-Dubs website, Wikipedia)
Awesome! Like I said, my experience was from a few years ago, so I’m glad to see things have changed. GWU hospital is also more easily accessible by Metro (yes, I know Metro is horrible now, but still), whereas going to WHC requires a bus ride/car/Uber. I’m glad to hear survivors have more options now.
That totally makes sense for normal medical procedures, but rape kits are generally provided free-of-charge. (At least in the jurisdictions with which I’m familiar, I concede that it could be different elsewhere.)
This must be a recent (meaning within the past few years) change. I used to volunteer with the DC Rape Crisis Center and, at the time, only Washington Hospital Center administered rape kits. The linked article about the lack of rape kits at GWU (both the student health center and the hospital) is from 2011. I’m glad…
That’s awesome! I’m glad you (and others at your school) volunteered and weren’t forced into it. It’s an important subject for sure and obviously something schools need to teach. For me, it just really seemed like my math teacher was forced into it. I mean, he could have been a lot worse, but you could tell he didn’t…
Eek! I guess my math/sex ed teacher wasn’t so bad. He didn’t necessarily imply that any sort of shame should be associated with sex or sexuality, he was just very clinical about it. That was in 7th grade. Prior to that, in 5th grade, we did a day at a public health center and those people seemed to actually really…
I think Seabassy teaches a college-level human sexuality class (usually a psych class), where (I think?) you’re referring to middle school/high school sex ed, so two different animals. I think you’d be hard-pressed to find a human sexuality teacher who’s not open and honest about sex, as opposed to sex ed teachers,…
No problem! I hope you like it.
Trump is also anti-Diet Coke, so it’s very off brand.
You may feel ridiculous using it, but those Lumee phone cases actually do wonders for make-up selfies. I used to roll my eyes at them, but, I swear, they’re awesome!
My understanding is that Perry’s production company was paid for the actual costs of the production (back up singers, band, sound guys, set up and tear down of the stage, etc.), but Perry herself was not paid. Obviously, it would be illegal for the Clinton campaign to not pay for the cost of production (since an…
Cullen Jones won an individual medal in 2012. I thought she was the first black female swimmer to win an individual medal, but I could be wrong.
I was going to bring up the same point. I read an interesting BBC piece a few years back about the social and economic factors behind the fact that black children are less likely to learn to swim (something like 75% of black children didn’t know how to swim, while the number was around 45% for white children). A lot…
Last night, there wasn’t a team of gymnasts. It was the individual all-around. They showed the team all-around Tuesday night.
