@hybridbynature: Of course it's not easy but given a choice (or lack of thereof), I'll take what good folks at xda cook up instead of official updates. My Captivate is rocking latest Phoenix 3.0 ROM and that sucker is wicked fast and stable, something that could not be said about official 2.1 from Samsung / AT&T.

I'll wait until after MWC and after Apple announces iPhone 5 before I will upgrade.

This is why I love xda-developers forums. No need to wait for OEM's and carriers to "grace" your phone with broken modems, non-functioning GPS, and oodles of crapware.

@showbiz2: If I was a betting man I would predict that while the next gen iPhone will be announced for Verizon as well, it will have to wait a while, maybe a long while, as Apple is surely to concentrate on meeting a worldwide demand for GMS iPhone first.

@jamsesh: Simply because GSM iPhone will always outsell CDMA version by a very wide margin. Verizon will have to take a back seat and wait while Apple churns out GSM phones to satisfy demand around the world.

We, AT&T customers, will get a new version come June, while Verizonites will be stuck with IP4. Who's fucked now?
