because if you don’t they don’t release them on PC in the first place. :|
I’ll take a shoddy port over not having it on PC at all, tbh.

Aesthetics > graphics.
Here’s the problem a numerical rating faces though. Let’s say somebody were playing through two games back to back. They really enjoyed the first game and it had very few flaws. They give it a 10/10. Now, they play another game in which they have the most fun they’ve ever had, but every hour or so there’s times…
Platinum Games made the brave choice to put technical performance above graphical candy. For once graphics served the game and not vice versa. Is NieR: Automata the prettiest game in the world, hell no. Is it one of the smoothest open-world action RPGs and arguably one of the best ever made - yes, yes it is.
Number scores are a whole big discussion in and of themselves. Needless to say, nothing is perfect and I’m very pleased that Kotaku does not use numbers in reviews.
After for whether or not tech issues should detract from a score, I’m unsure about that. If only because (as I say in the video) sometimes they do no harm…
This ultimately is why I think number scores fail. The reason games can still get a 10 while having technical shortcomings is that the overall quality of the game in all over aspects completely outweighs the technical faults. In other words, getting a 10/10 doesn’t mean the game is literally perfect: it just means…
Public service announcement: If you enjoyed Mass Effect (OG) you should buy Andromeda. Fuck animation haters this game over the 6 hours I put in the trial destroyed every expectation I had and then some. A few hiccups that are momentarily distracting but overall A+ gaming experience.
From what I’ve read it’s been a production by all three studios and honestly if this other version you’re following is true and this was a game made by “new hires” then it’s a fucking amazing product to come out of that.
I really hope Mass Effect: Andromeda does well even with its issues as it seems increasingly that the bad press is being at least orchestrated or hyped up by the Alt-Right who don’t like the political views of a couple of Bioware’s current/former employees.
Multiplayer is a surprisingly big part for me. Looking for something Destiny-ish enough to hold me over till the sequel.
I am and I know a number of people who are too. Combat and multiplayer is what for me and what I am hearing got a lot of people decided on as the reason to purchase the game. Also game reminds people of ME1 but with much better combat and vehicle control. (Most if not all criticism has been an extreme overreaction to…
The big thing of course is that these could easily be saved if his fucking hard on for Defence was actual proper funding.
Thanks for this. Some of the best comments on it I’ve seen. Actually insightful!
Kumail Nanjiani makes a good salarian.
I think that many (but not all) hate Bioware because they are rather progressive on some social topics like trans characters and same sex relations. And some don’t like that at all.
That sounds perfect. I love ME and as much as I also love ME2 and ME3, the first has a special place in my heart. More of ME is what I want right about now.
That’s very reassuring to me as well. 1 is my favorite for the same reasons. I know I tried to convince many friends and coworkers to play the first game, but almost all of them had the same response. “I made it to the citadel and stopped playing.”
I loved the citadel, walking around it and discovering other species.…
I agree. The first time I played ME1, I wasn’t a fan of how wonky the game was. After a few hours of elevators and turning everything into omni-gel, I started to love the game. ME2 is still my favorite though.
I’m seeing all the downsides, they just don’t really matter that much. Yeah the UI isn’t great. Yeah the animation is bad. But if I didn’t like a game, good UI and good animation wouldn’t make me enjoy it more. So why should it be the other way around? I’m having a lot of fun. It feels good to play, and the agility…
I’m not seeing the downsides of ME:A like other people seem to be. The UI is a bit sloppy (like others have mentioned that bloody M to open map but not M to close map...eurgh) and the animations need a tiny bit of work perhaps but I thought the first few hours kind of felt...like Mass Effect? I’m for the release…
