Wouldn’t a 2-4-2 configuration mean you are less likely to get a middle seat? (As opposed to a 3-3-3.)

Yes you are correct. This article misses this crucial point.
Maybe I just don’t understand... But why wait? What does waiting until after the due date get you? As long as you know your payment is being applied to principle, shouldn’t it not matter when you pay it (basically, make the extra payment ASAP, because that is now principle that won’t be accruing interest.)
DON’T DO WHAT THIS AUTHOR IS SAYING. I’m sure she has the best intentions, but she really does NOT understand compounding interest. Daily compounding interest means that the interest compounds (is added to the principle balance) daily. Here’s a simple example, with really high interest rates (it makes it easy to do…
Your article isnt correct. Here’s why
You should do a bit more research into how student loan servicing works. How paid ahead payments work (they can, and do, apply to principal once all interest is satisfied). Student loans are very much NOT like mortgages.
It’s an nice thought, as if pay paying on a particular day, you could save money. If only it were that easy. :)
This article is idiotic, even by lifehacker standards. The best time to make an extra payment is as soon as you have the money available. It’s true that if that’s 28 days after your regular payment, more of it will go to interest. However, the next regular payment will have less interest. That the author doesn’t…
How is this any better/different from paying more than what’s due on the due-date? For example, if I usually pay $100 on the 1st of the month, wouldn’t paying an extra $50 on the 2nd be roughly equivalent to paying $150 on the due date?
Was going to say the exact same thing. Yeah you want to do it as soon as possible.
Wouldn’t you want to make the extra payment at the earliest date possible, regardless of proximity to the regular installment? Even if more of that extra payment ends up going to interest, it will increase the portion of the next installment that goes toward principal, and it will reduce the total interest cost even…
Did you really quote the president and CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage that people should not put more down on their house? Come on!
“The study was conducted using people who consume coffee regularly.”
You mean to say that people with a minor physical addiction to caffeine perform better after having a hit than while suffering through withdrawal symptoms? Shocking.
Probably don’t post anything about your job, your boss or coworkers even if you don’t add anyone you work with.
Its Daylight Saving, not “savings”.
70% of adults can be wrong about something.
No, this is about paying the entire balance every month and not ever paying interest.
If you need to know your credit card interest rate, you’re living wrong.
