You’re a good writer.

Honestly, this is despicable journalism. There is so much racism, so much hate, and so much behaviour that deserves to be called out in a public forum for the filth that it is, but this....this is raking two young girls over the coals for nothing. This unsubstantiated vilification only hurts credibility of stories

Classic Clover Hope. Our resident idiot.

When I was 4, my mom’s crazy stalker (she was married to my dad - this dude just saw her walking in the neighborhood and thought she was hot) committed arson at our house - twice. I woke up when the fire truck roared up to our house to douse the fire he started in a pile of leaves. He came around the next day to tell

Woah. This has nothing to do with her gender. Don’t try to paint me as some kind of misogynist. She’s the first woman climber I’ve read of dying. (There may have been others, I suppose, but if so, I forget.) I hold this view primarily about male climbers I’ve read about who leave wives and children behind. The

Old people. It’s why America is taking the bold step of making sure very, very few people have enough money to retire. Thus keeping old people at work until they are too infirmed to actually get out of bed and complain.

Yep. There’s totally not a long historical trend of crediting women’s accomplishments to whatever dudes are around as an excuse to deny them competency and discredit evidence of equal skill. Male chauvinism has created a debt against women’s labor; you don’t get to act entitled to a clear balance just because you’re

I agree wth a caveat: unless you have children who depend on you for raising them, then I just think it’s criminally selfish. When you have kids who depend on you, you don’t have the right to gamble with your life any more than you have to (say, by driving to work).

Between that and the bit about menstral cycles, I need to ask: um, guys, is there a part of making sushi where you shove it in your vagina? Because if so, I’ve been doing this all wrong.

I had exactly the same thought. I think not having kids (or having as few as possible) should be incentivized, but not prohibited. Banning childbirth is just as wrong as banning abortion.

A misguided policy, to be sure.
