Water will always pool a little bit on glassware if their bottoms are concave and even the EXTRA DRY feature won’t solve that.

As “I wish I knew this before I was in my 30s” ticktocker Syndeyraz just corrected, this is not a good thing to do. Many dishwashers have vents on the top which you would be blocking. Or you are leaving a crack so you’re venting steam all over the electronics in your control panel.
Unless we have a lot of plastic in the load, our Bosch does an amazingly efficient job of drying dishes. I suspect the effectiveness of the towel method depends a lot on how your dishwasher dries - airflow, like the Bosch, or heating coils.
It’s too much to ask a site to cross reference their articles with their sister sites before posting. Didn’t you know that?
Given that it’s from tik-tok no wonder everyone is pointing out the very simple act of “opening the dishwasher” can fulfill the same purpose alone. I’m not sure what it is about Tik-tok but many of the “hacks” are practically Rube-Goldberg machines.
Why not? Just put a babyproofing strap on the dish washer. Put enough slack in the strap so it can air out, but the toddler can’t open it.
Is this even needed? I just open my dishwasher when it’s done, pull all the racks out and by the time everything is cool enough to touch, it’s dry. I call BS on this one and any perceived positive results are likely psychological. Even most of the comments on the TikTok say it doesn’t work.
