Lets just hope they don’t go with the classic “getting rid of the alien parasite wipes his memory, makes him a blank slate and is thus redeemed” plot.

The hosts do seem a bit fragile for this type of show.
I won’t be surprised if Coulson steps down after this. Or is requested to step down. He’s too broken now. He wasn’t in love with Rosalind. Their relationship was just beginning. She was just a moment of peace he thought he could have because she was also in the business. She was someone he could care about and would…
For me Ward has crossed the line from “love to hate him” to “just plain hate him and don’t want to see him on TV anymore.”
“Turns out your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. See, mostly dead is still slightly alive.”
I think it’s great to see a character do a quick cost-benefit analysis and kill someone who needs killing, and dispose of the whole “Hero can’t kill anyone ever” trope. How many thousands of people has Batman killed by refusing to snuff the Joker?
Whitehall’s character was also anti-climatic.
Coulson’s kill was grizzly. Like...unnecessarily so.
No, no. The best line was after Ward suggests Fitz might want to shoot Will for getting intimate with Simmons and Fitz says: “Grow up!”
Well i dont think it needs to mimic its host. At best it has access to its memories and personality but the only reason it was playing Will was to make getting to the portal easier. And know that it was close enough it decided to drop the act abit but it being a god level monster it underestimated Fitz. So yeah hoping…
I had a think after that happened...Coulson has been through some shit, not just this season, but since before the show even started.
I said that outloud during the episode. “Sure Fitz, try and tackle the ancient evil GOD.”
This might be hard to hear, but there are Jessica Jones/Kilgrave shippers out there.
I was partial to, "You and the Power Rangers go find Simmons. We'll secure the portal."
I feel like the Agents of SHIELD writers have some bet going, to see how far they can push Ward into utter villainy without Brett Dalton somehow still managing to come off as likable.
LOL I labeled him Goa’uld Grant Ward as well. As for the creature not being very strong, he did get shot a whole bunch before the flare gun set him on fire. But remember what Simmons said. She got the feeling that he used to be much stronger but was now weak from being on this dead planet for so long. Also remember…
My guess is that it wasn’t fully cognizant of its own identity — maybe the process of taking over another body scrambles its sense of self, and it took seeing the ruined city to jog its memory and realize it wasn’t Astronaut Mike Dexter Will Daniels. Kind of like how in The Thing, there were imitated humans who didn’t…
Great episode and great recap!
Grant Ward; Goa’uld, I like it. And it’s totally a Goa’uld. I’ve seen enough Stargate to know what an alien that can possess dead bodies and has access to the bodies memories from it’s snakelike form is.
Remember when Fitz lost a fight with a glass door in Season 1?
