This is SO important. The risks of an unhealthy person in pregancy are astronomical to both the fetus and the parent. An OB I dated ages ago was completely flabbergasted by the number of pregnant women with preventable health conditions that ultimately wound up hospitalized or worse due to risky pregnancies.

I saw a great use of “flag inspired” attire once. The woman had made her dress for an Independence Day event, and made sure that it was evocative of a waving flag, but no actual flags were printed on the fabrics nor did her assembly of the multi-gored skirt create a flag. I wish I’d taken photos.
