I mean, a lot of actors wave away questions about their love lives, and that’s their prerogative. He’s also talking about “extra noise”, which I take to mean gossip and rumours fuelled by blogs and tabloids, not necessarily work-sanctioned interviews.

To be fair, he’s talking about his relationship, not his job. If I was dating a famous person and there was a lot of toxic bullshit happening that was beyond my control, I’d try to disengage from it too.
