Joe gave the $500 to Danny to help pay for the cellphone.

Darl Bundren in As I Lay Dying (does that count as pop culture?)

Me too! Kept looking around for a bright blue smear, because that's what I always saw in my head :0)

Also the "Neanderthal hate crime" episode. I've never felt that any of the other seasons had any episodes quite as bad as all of those.

What's with all of the heavy-handed messages this season? There was the one about the vet who was a hero on 9/11, the stuff about donating to the children's tumor foundation, and last night's heaven is real stuff. The dialogue has been so terribly written that the stars can't even mask how over the top it is. That

One thing I liked about this episode was that Sherlock seemed to watch Watson more as she moved around the apartment doing mundane things. I think he's starting to accept the reality of her as a valuable person to him, instead of just ignoring her as "that other person who happens to live in my house."

I also LOVED the axe joke.
As soon as the Jeremy Lopez guy was willing to give a cheek swab, I knew we were going to see one of the ole "bone-marrow-transplant-gives-rise-to-different-DNA" switcheroos. I might not be an ex-surgeon like Watson, but it is nice to know that the master's in genetic counseling is at least

Was actually able to get writing done on the family's mini-vacation this weekend, so I'm right at about 5,000 words. I'm actually sitting down to write right now. Feel free to add me as a writing buddy, username karareynolds.

Anyone else doing NaNoWriMo this year?

I wouldn't mind a recast of all the main cast if it meant they would do the Thrawn trilogy.

Some of the special features on past season DVD sets have interviews with her speaking in her normal voice. It's extremely off-putting, like listening to Hugh Laurie speak in his regular voice when you've only seen him do House.

Did anyone else watch this on Hulu before it aired on TV? Do they always do that?

Definitely going to stick around. I liked that Jonny Lee Miller reminded me a lot of House this week. He even vaguely resembles Hugh Laurie…
