It looks like it was designed by a toddler intern at Fisher-Price toys. I don’t want “spacious columns”, I want MORE information on the screen so I don’t have to scroll and scroll. I just CAN’T STAND the new interface.

The worst part about the interface is the menu on the left hand side, and the way the messenger list is on the right. There needs to be a damn way to hide this shit. It’s just a terrible terrible design. Everything just obstructs the flow. And why do I have to have the same icon twice on the same screen? There’s a…
Still better looking than MySpace...
It’s truly horrendous. I consume Fb mostly on my laptop and very occasionally on my phone. The new layout looks it was simultaneously designed for Boomers and for toddlers, with those gigantic round buttons and input boxes.
Add someone that generally sets things to the smallest size possible. Seeing only 2 posts at once on a 1440p screen tells me everything is too large. (Especially when every other post is an ad).
I LOATHE it. I access Facebook mostly via Safari on my iPad, and it’s a train wreck with the new version. The three columns are “loose” (for lack of a more-accurate technical word), and tend to slide around. I don’t care about who’s online, so I keep that bar closed. Thus the right column is wasted white space. If I…
Pretty ‘meh’ overall - but Fucking Terrible on a widescreen monitor. If you are wondering where FB wants you to spend time, look no further than the icons above your feed: Home, Videos, Groups, and Gaming - ads and sponsored content revenue galore.
Facebook should worry about functionality before they worry about design. Like for instance, it’s been around for how many years, and yet it still filters out posts without asking or notifying me when I want to view my feed in chronological order? That’s damn annoying. I use Facebook to keep up to date with people,…
Looks huge on a desktop, like gigantic tablet
Good old technical assault: when companies decide “it’s good for you” and force it upon you with no choice.
I’m generally not one to get all bitchy about UI/UX changes and even if I do - I’m over it after a bit of use.
Facebook: “Hold my beer.”
Well, to be honest, this change makes me want to use Facebook less, so I guess it is technically faster...
So ridiculous. People like Facebook because it’s NOT Twitter. Just look at how much of the screen is taken up with questionable functionality FB is trying to force on users, most of whom are just there for the Newsfeed which is now just a tiny little rectangle above the fold. I was looking for a reason to dump…
Also: ...claims of faster performance
I hate it. I’m actually usually someone who is all in on updates like this, but the Facebook update is horrible. Everything is so BIG and cluttered, it’s overwhelming, overstimulating, and just stressful to browse or chat on .
This should really be done on most every mainstream site. (First up, YouTube comments section).
I’ve been on since 2005. As I said here this is a lot more than just ditching comments. Besides the uses I mentioned the forums helped connect people who didn’t have a need for IMDBPro’s info, but wanted to speak with others in the entertainment realms about specific topics. Critics, film subject writers, bloggers,…
Exactly. The only reason I ever went on the site was to read (not even comment) people’s comments immediately after watching a movie. Of course there are trolls, it’s the internet for God’s sake. You’d always find a thread where someone noticed obscure plot points or interesting details. Don’t think I’ll visit the…
I agree. What’s the point of going there anymore? With Youtube and RT, is IMDB even necessary anymore? The people in the review section are mostly paid studio shills.
