They don't have uncensored access, but their significant others do. It is not at all unusual for people to ask their wives/girlfriends/whomever to look up information and get it to them.

Sometimes you'll see it in snitch cases. I had a client who ratted out a gang member in an in-prison murder. He testified at the guy's trial. Then he was shipped out of state to an undisclosed location for his own protection for 10 (or so) years.
