Yep, the huge mega events where all of these people are attacking each other are fun to read about, but when I tried it I just couldn’t get into the gameplay.

How is that possibly useless? They literally said no we aren't developing it, the game ended as intended etc. just because you don't like the answers doesn't mean they're lying or inconclusive. Christ gamers are the worst sometimes, which is exactly why most video game PR would just ignore this stuff.
