I think the straw issue is a straw man. Micro-plastics are the primary cause of marine life destruction. I also r-e-a-l-l-y dislike how a lot of pro-strawers are speciously engaging with able bodied rhetoric (jezebel had a terrible take) to suggest that the straw ban will be discriminatory.

All food systems and food chains are highly problematic. Conservative estimates suggest that 1/2 the food produce is wasted. Anything involving animals is esp. bad BUT when labor practices are considered (doing a life cycle assessment/cradle to the grave analysis) and then the toil of pesticides on the environments…

Try growing your own food? That will greatly reduce your carbon footprint. My top starter suggestion is anything that can grown in a hydroponics system.
