For those that haven’t - which seems like most of you here - PLEASE see Larry Cohen’s 1972 film, “Bone”.

Indeed. And then the final payoff, when he’s finally got Dennis Farina in custody after so long... and his face just slowly splits into this big, triumphant, satisfied grin.

I will join you on that hill, because Homicide is absurdly underrated and Kotto deserves as much credit as Braugher for his fantastic performance.

He was fantastic.  A hill I am prepared to die on is the “Homicide” was the first prestige drama  on TV, and set the stage for The Sopranos and The Wire (duh). Consistently outstanding, and oftentimes fucking shattering.  It was an amazing show for broadcast television.  I can watch Andre Braugher interview suspects

Just watched the trailer to refresh my memory. Alia Shawkat and Rob Corddry are also in it!

No love for Cedar Springs? He was great in that playing totally against type as a nerdy insurance agent.

I know there weren’t a lot of episodes, but Hayword has a lot of excellent points on his side and that should have been explored a bit more. Wanda (a former member of a terrorist cell, and someone who accidentally blew up a building full of people) has taken control of the minds and bodies of everyone within a several

That and the fact that Ford also improvised Indy shooting the intimidating swordsmen in Raiders (the script had him originally doing a lengthy swordfight)

One sorely underrated performance from him is in Delores Claiborne. The book is one of those that’s basically unadaptable, being basically a long stream-of-consciousness diatribe from a bitter old woman that regularly flits between time periods, so his character was invented for the film, a detective who failed to

Since I’m sure his obit will be full of Sound of Music, etc., here are a couple of my favorites of his work:

Look at Alice Cooper...from all accounts the guy sounds like a pussy cat.

“Did Trump change anyone’s life in a meaningful way?”

What a farce for Barsanti and Co to have turned the AVClub into a rage-bait click farm and then proclaim they're above it all. It reminds me of how they used to have daily newswires about Amy Winehouse and then after she died they tried, with a straight face, to scold us over our voyeurism.

Great, one of these guys.

did Trump change anyone’s life in a meaningful way?” Yeah in a lot of very bad very "meaningful" ways.

did Trump change anyone’s life in a meaningful way”

I think the kids locked in cages and the people who lost family to Covid found it pretty fucking meaningful. He also undermined our elections and attempted to overthrow the government, which to quote Joe Biden is “A Big Fucking Deal”. I could go on but I’m sick of the fucker. Do not minimize the fucker, shit was not

Since ‘80s cartoon villains seem to be the best model for the current (for now) batch of cronies, this is one of those times Destro finally had his fill of Cobra Commander’s crap, and found a way to do something about it.

I was once asked in an initial job interview to name my 3 favorite movies and The Beastmaster was my number 3 (I think I’d just bought the DVD so its glory was fresh in my mind). Based on his reaction I think the interviewer might have had some misconceptions concerning what a movie called “Beastmaster” is all about.

People who think movies need to make sense are missing out on some of the best movies.
