....aaaaaaaaand it’s uncharitable, performative scolds like you that are definitely helping.

Yeah, the plight of the displaced is something that makes sense on paper, and a really interesting idea to explore within the post-snap world. But the show does a terrible job of illustrating it. Just give us ONE SCENE, in the first episode, showing us a case study of a displaced person being pushed out of their

Not at all.  This is show is supposed to be a continuation of Winter Soldier, which is perhaps Marvel’s most emotionally satisfying movie and a stone-cold action classic.

Yeah this was an improvement but there’s still too much dumb writing, baffling storytelling lapses, and poor directing to really redeem this show from being a disappointment. A few examples:

Generally I think Fincher runs circles around Nolan as a filmmaker, but Benjamin Button is one movie where he made something even more pompous, tedious and in love with its own pointless technical achievements than Nolan at his absolute worst.

Thematically, though, it made perfect sense.  And it was a clever way to have Batman beat Joker with Joker still ‘winning’.

This episode was an absolute mess. Lazy writing and TERRIBLE direction. With all the radical plot and character shifts that it forces down the audience’s throat, the whole goddamned episode grinds to a halt SO SAM AND BUCKY CAN WALK IN SLOW MOTION INTO SELBY’S LOFT???? Selby is a character that, by all rights,

It was surprisingly good!  And it was the first time I recognized that Cavill had actual charisma-- he was terrific.  By far, Guy Ritchie’s best franchise-type movie.  Too bad about Armie Hammer.  I really thought he was maybe a cool, self-aware type after I saw him in ‘Sorry to Bother You’.

Upvoted for ‘Bloodfuck’.  Better TM that before Rob Liefeld gets here

Sebastian Stan was delightful in this first ep.  The guy can act; it’s gonna be fun watching him flex a little as the co-lead for this show.

That was the most baffling thing in this very dumb, very lazily-written movie. Darkseid apparently didn’t save Earth’s address on his Google Maps. And why/how is the ‘anti-life equation’ carved into the Earth?

30 minutes in. Not a fan of Rand-bro Snyder and knew better than to waste my time on the theatrical version of this. But it’s a rainy day, I’m hungover, and 4 hours of superhero mediocrity seems like the ticket. Kind of enjoying the operatic ponderousness so far. Waiting for the annoyances to pile up.

I thought everyone was already aware that Q lives in the top of the Chrysler Building, where it lays in wait for Michael Moriarty to feed it the occasional gangster.

I’ve seen it, it’s insane, a true showcase for Kotto and easily Cohen’s best film!

Yeah, it’s nice seeing how he’s aged into character acting— He really has been delightful in Watchmen, Knives Out, Django, and Brawl in Cell Block 99. But I am mildly resentful of the man. He looks better at 71 then I did when I was 30.

Cedar Rapids is a really, really solid little comedy and probably the highlight of Ed Helms’ career. Definitely deserved more attention than it got. And yeah, Whitlock is great in it.

There are a lot of great and differing opinions on the merits/flaws of how the show wrapped up. But surely everyone agrees the new Scarlet Witch costume IS AMAZEBALLS. It’s regal, not over-sexualized, and hews close to the comics version. I particularly like the stripes on the leggings which give it a real ‘Kirby’

Ford’s ad-libs were great, but the ‘Raiders’ one was a result of him suffering from violent diarrhea that precluded him from shooting the planned epic swordfight.

Uh, not when they’re doing shit like raiding the seat of government wearing shirts that say ‘6 Million Wasn’t Enough’ and ‘Camp Auschwitz’.

Except she did, directly. And being refused further work to show up and pretend-laser fight, or being disinvited from a lunch or a wedding, or being called an asshole for your outspoken asshole views, is hardly the same thing as being rounded up and put into death camps because of which book your parents worship. So
