‘I find her interesting because she’s a client and she sleeps above her covers.

This is the BEST line reading of all time, no close second.

Honestly, Kang would agree with you, except then Villannelle shows up dressed as a 1920’s preppie and does something terrifying/hilarious and I something something stream next episode

Haven’t seen the new one yet but Kang can HELL YEAH this post. Rian Johnson is a really good director and yet I was underwhelmed by his movie. There were lots of ‘mini-subversions’ of expectations but they didn’t seem like they altered the slipshod planning of the new trilogy in any way.

Dowd hits the nail on the head— The problem with ALL the new Star Wars content is that it is fun, expansive, swashbuckling adventure made from a fundamental fear of anything new. Which is both depressing and exhausting.

Note to self:  Start watching The Crown again!

Kang is extremely annoyed that he was watching Natalia Tena for the entire episode and didn’t even know it. She was my major GoT crush. And also her exit from that show more or less coincided with its precipitous drop in quality.

Peter’s stunned, silent blinking when Ray tells him the monthly rent is (kisses fingers like a chef).

Ghostbusters remains one of my top 5 favorite movies of all time, and I have no idea who this movie is supposed to be for. Who cares about the car? The ghost traps? For fuck’s sake, no one loves Ghostbusters because of its fucking ‘mythos’.

Honestly? Kang kind of wants the Snyder cut to come out. I haven’t even seen the original theatrical Justice League. I’m just goddamned curious to see how fucking bad this movie must be if even the clueless suits at Warner Brothers refused to release it.

Good discussion. We’ll both have to see how it plays out, anyway. A lot rests on the conclusion. Despite my extensive whinging, I adore this show and am cautiously optimistic they’ll stick the landing.

Yeah, if The Irishman in any way glamorized the mob life, or was at all rehashing the tone and perspectives of his other movies dealing with organized crime.

I absolutely see where you’re coming from. Agreed, Nazis should never go unpunched. But the idea of ‘Watchmen’ as a ‘brand’— since this is where we are with people extrapolating from Moore/Gibbons’ original text— is that there is no safe, moral way to solve political problems with violence. And Joelle’s statement

Agree it was Viedt crash-landing on the Clark’s farm, and he’s definitely in that statue. Interesting to consider how it happened, with all the referencing of thermo-dynamic miracles (‘like oxygen spontaneously becoming gold’).

I agree— It’s just the way Joelle seems to unambiguously revel in the ‘kick-ass’ aspects of Angela and Will’s superhero identities that gives me pause.

I didn’t need to be a time-traveling conqueror to see that one coming.

An interesting thought: What if it wasn’t actually a video Wade saw at all, but an advanced version of the Cyclops mesmerism tech?

Agreed, this is a nonsensical criticism. ‘In the book, we never see Hooded Justice is black’ is just as valid a gripe. Which is to say, not very.

The fuck? Grant Morrison’s King Mob does not exist contemporaneously, or even in the same universe as, Hooded Justice. There is clearly some in-universe bad guy who uses the same moniker. This is by far the weirdest criticism of this show.
