a lot of people, a LOT of people, love resident evil 4. there must be a reason for that - and it’s not that they prefer ‘big dumb action games’. it’s because it was a breath of fresh air when it came out. sure, in retrospect, the earlier games are solid, and many people, myself included, are fans, but re4 sort of…
Minerva’s Den is one of the few DLCs I’ve played over and over again. It deserves all the love it gets, and then some.
Loved it. I actually really enjoyed bioshock 2 more then the others. The DLC was great, the main story was fun, and I actually enjoyed the multiplayer for what it was. I had a lot of fun with it. Especially since it allowed me to explore underwater outside of rapture a bit. That game always fascinated me.
Bioshock 2 is the better game. Bioshock 1 just had originality and a twist story going for it.
Gilbert Alexander gets there a bit. I crap on morality systems and choices quite a bit but I think his situation is a fairly well crafted conundrum.
I think it takes more risks than the original. Which is good and bad. There’s a lot more potential outcomes and endings. The bond between Delta and Eleanor helps make things more personal as well. It also feels richer than Booker and Elizabeth, for me. Seeing Rapture even further ruined made for good level design.
Good read, I don’t agree with everything, but Minerva’s Den definitely included the story part that I thought Bioshock 2 in general missed. I mean it had a story, just I thought it was the lesser of the other two in the trilogy. I do somewhat think that you’re not supposed to love/like Booker, especially for who he…
Always stood by my stance that 2 was the best one of the bunch. Never thought about it too much but it was probably due to Minerva’s Den. I like that 2 was just a video game. It didn’t have the hilarious predictability of 1's storyline or the, sorry, somewhat pretentious plot of Infinite, it just took 1's gameplay and…
Despite my adoration for Bioshock, I wasn’t planning on getting this collection. Then it came out that Skyrim wouldn’t have mod support on PS4... so I got this collection instead.
This article is correct and I’ve been saying it for years. Heck, Minerva’s Den might be the best DLC ever released.
“I need to know where my hacked cameras are and where to place trip-mine like trap rivots.”
You know, I’m really going to miss MiiVerse when it shuts down. I hope the NX keeps it going, because it’s so very Nintendo.
Then shouldn’t the title be ‘Why Half Life 2's Story Doesn’t Live Up To It’s Predecessor’?
I kept reading, expecting to hear about the actual game, only to just keep hearing issues with the story/lore as if Half Life is a book series.
This article occults what we, as gamers, are praising about the game ; actual game mechanics.
So better implementation to you means that stuff falls off of shelves when pull the trigger. While in Halflife 2 in world objects become weapons, hazards and puzzles as well as props. But to you Fear and Max Payne do physics better because of “feed back”.
You’re arguement is pretty good, except for one thing: you’re forgetting about the Vortigaunts. They’re why Gordon Freeman has the reputation he has in Half-Life 2. They were previously enslaved by the Nihilanth (who may have been a rebel against the Combine, but was the one leading the assault against Earth in…
“Half-Life, which is the second-greatest shooter of all time after Halo: Combat Evolved and Quake”
How can I nominate this for an Academy Award or something? This is good. Like, frightfully good.
