I’ve worked in computer hardware repair for about 10 years. Had to do so many repairs on larger pcbs (arcade games, older server boards, etc) that I eventually just started throwing them in the dishwasher to clean them.

The industry is definitely in need of some talent. I’m a programming tutor and have been thinking about this quite a bit. At the very least, CS/software development should have a presence in public schools. Hopefully things change for the better.
