I think the reason people may be surprised by these numbers is because in America, if we sign a contract, our carriers will heavily discount our phone while giving us a slightly more expensive plan to cover the cost. Where did you get that price point? On Amazon, they have a Nexus 4 16GB for $539. That is only a $111 difference from the 16GB iPhone 5. The iPhone has a higher density display, is lighter and thinner. Both do not have SD slots though. And the Nexus has a "faster" processor, but definitely more ram.
