Yeah, this game looks fun - but I’ve got Guacamelee 2 (amazing!) and Dead Cells (also amazing!) to scratch that itch right now, with Spider-man looming. I’ll put this one on the list to look at on a good sale.

I like Dead Cells a lot but the way upgrades work is starting to bug me. Like, I can only get to certain areas from other areas, so I have to remember which worlds fork to which in order to get the next upgrade I need on my next run.

...I get the cynicism about EA, but they are exactly 0% at fault for what happened in Jacksonville. It wasn’t at an event they were running (just going “oh, yeah, sure, your event counts”), their game is a fucking football game and not a game that involves weapons of any kind.

But the game doesn’t really delve into any of these topics so much as it merely touches on them. It does so with plenty of style and confidence, but it keeps things light and breezy, for the most part.
