This comment has big “Principle Skinner insisting to himself it’s the children who are wrong” energy.

My grandmother always told me it was unhealthy to sit too close to the TV.

My grandmother always told me it was unhealthy to sit too close to the TV.

What am I missing?

I think it’s the best game in the series, particularly when it comes to the story.

My first gut punch of embarrassment at my callout post of a museum came from the revelation that DmC: Devil May Cry was one of my first Xbox 360 games.

Buried a shit-ton of misconduct for three decades?

He has made a metric shit ton of money for the shareholders, and I’m sure many of them expect that when this blows over, he’ll continue to do so.

In the grimdark future of the video game industry all publisher are Activision.

I was already boycotting them on the basis of them not releasing any games I want to play, but now I’m encouraging other people to do so as well.

A boycott has a zero percent chance of being successful

The workers have made their play, and the executives aren’t listening.  A customer boycott is literally the only way this company changes.  And if they don’t change, they go under, and space is made in the market for better companies.  That means lost jobs in the short term, but a better industry in the long term.

This is like when OJ said he was going to find the real killer.

No, I already did that anyway.

This motherfucker threatened to kill one of his subordinates.

GTA:6 will be an always online GaaS game monetized by a subscription and/or microtransactions, bet.

Yeah, I’m sure that’s exactly what happened.  But I want to hear someone say it, or barring that, hear them try to jump through hoops to avoid saying it.

Yeah, but you get those sales at the cost of all consumer goodwill surrounding the foundational titles of your flagship IP. How much revenue makes that trade worthwhile? It’s the height of shortsighted ignorance.  Even the greediest of corporations can usually be expected to act in their own self-interest.

I mean, “trust” can mean a lot of things. I’m not going to trust them to perform brain surgery or watch my dog, but in general I think there are plenty of AAA developers you can trust to release basically functional products, if only because it’s in their best interest to do so. At least until they betray that trust.

That’s great and all, but what I really want is an explanation of how you decided to release the games in this state to begin with. It’s not like you didn’t know what state the game was in when you released it.

You’ve learned a faulty lesson.
