This is a great article, but I can’t imagine a phrase more likely to destroy my interest in a game than “it’s like Twitter.”

I used kickball and baseball because it’s more like playing a completely different game that just happens to take place on the same field.  

But I know all too well that certain aspects of our personalities can become part of our identities to such an extent that they are no longer rational decisions, but instead simply facts about us that we accept without question.

What you’re doing here is the equivalent of telling people who are playing kickball that you’re only interested in baseball.

No one is buying a PS4 for HZD three years after it’s release.  That ship has sailed.

Didn’t start with the internet. See: pretty much any counter-culture or sub-culture in the past century....probably further back than that. Video games are just one of the latest fronts in the culture war. The real news is how social media and the internet have changed the means by which the culture was is fought.
