Yes, because I like video games. I don’t care for self-indulgent circle-jerks or commercials, though.  If you do, then that’s fine.

It’s an industry wank-fest used as an excuse to show commercials. Lighten up, Francis.

Thanks for checking in. We were all on the enge of our seats.

This is exactly the sort of content Great Hill Partners deserves for it’s money.

Because using pretty much any of them on their side has always been a bad idea, and has always caused hardware issues over time.

I’ve felt that way for 20 years.

I don’t actually see much difference, to be honest.

Didn’t that climbing bug show up in Highlight Reel recently?

For fuck’s sake, people, this is getting old.

I did not find the decision to be incredibly complicated, and it didn’t matter much anyway, since every ending basically led to the same outcome, and any differences in that outcome were essentially glossed over by the actual ending cinematic.

It’s the Mass Effect: Andromeda problem.  They took a great 30 hour game and stretched it to 80 hours.

Yeah, it’s a master class in raising the stakes.

I don’t actually agree with you there. I still think ME1 has the best storytelling, and ME2 probably has the worst (although the gameplay itself was greatly improved). I thought ME3 was doing a good job of wrapping up all the threads until the final act.

Why do you expect the final choice to provide yet more acknowledgement of those past choices?

I’d argue it doesn’t matter as much. And that was the real problem. So many of the choices in the franchise were nuanced and made you really consider your character, and how the choice would ripple out to the rest of the game world. But then, instead of having those choices culminate in something important, the ending

No.

It defined it as a race/nationality as well as a religion.

Excellent piece.

All well and good, but it doesn’t change the fact that Trump’s motivation here is not to protect Jewish people.  It’s to smother dissent for conservative support of Israel.

I’m not denying that there are anti-semites protesting against Israel, or that many protests against Israel are motivated by anti-semitism.
