Word’s been spreading through back channels all day that Splinter is shutting down. I heard it from someone who works in the marketing/social media department where I work, but it’s been popping up elsewhere online all day.

I think you’d mostly have people paying lip service to whatever socioeconomic model brought them the greatest profits and power. Even the ostensibly communist idea of party/nation is generally just exploited as a way of enriching those in power.  Power is always the end goal.
