Holy shit, 48% of Epic. I had no idea they had their claws in that deep, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

Ooooooh.
So it’s fitting that I used it to point out that the original commenter had no argument beyond cynicism in the first place. A nice symmetry, if I do say so.
This. The further control gets from a few passionate individuals, and the more it gets taken over by outside interests and shareholders, the more this sort of behavior becomes inevitable.
Remember that Capitalism demands the pursuit of as much money as humanly possible
Because it sends the clear (and clearly true) message: “we’re talking, but we are not listening.”
Its not apathy.....gamers would rather downvote a Reddit thread or review bomb a game than ever lift a finger in the political world where the action is required.
The only pro athlete I can imagine outrunning is, like, John Daly.
Why the outrage at ActiBlizzard when they aren’t doing anything different than the US government does?
You apathy and cynicism is inspiring. You’re so cool and rad.
Which is why spreading the word is important.
Uh huh. Do you have anything relevant or interesting to say, or are you just wasting mental energy?
At this point any support for Blizzard, including purchasing their products, is throwing your hat in with corporate interests that care more about their own profits than the human rights of actual human beings.
Yes. The difference is I feel, as a decent human being, the need to point out when a business is acting immorally and outside the best interests of America, of human rights, and of democracy. I also feel the need to let other people know that’s going on, and encourage them to stand up against it, so as to affect that…
If you think posting on Kinja takes much mental energy, then that’s really too bad for you.
Yep. And it’s not just the celebrities themselves. The movie studios are doing it as well (though they take pains to be less overt about it so as to avoid controversy).
No, if a player is going to make political statements, he shouldn’t be using a Blizzard platform. If he had spouted white supremacist BS, everyone would be cheering Blizzard for the ban.
I don’t either. You never had a leg to stand on. I’m glad you figured that out. Now you can get back to your bootlicking.
Can you give me one example of an opposing political view that was expressed in their stream that they didn’t “silence”?
Yeah Bush is ultimately responsible for some very bad shit, I would have a very hard time being friends with him because of it; however, that doesn’t mean I think he should wander the rest of his life alone and undeserving of friendship.
