A recurring question is, do you want to build something or use something? Building something is a great learning experience. But sometimes you just need to do something quickly.

Or Grado.
Or Grado.
On behalf of my old Sensei, I’ll encourage caution. When you put on earphones, you are disconnecting from the world around you. At home, or in your office, that’s probably fine. On an airplane flight or a longish train ride, again, probably fine. Walking down the street? When jogging? When on a subway, bus or other…
Porta-pro’s look flimsy. But the lifetime warranty makes up for it. I have a number of headphones that cost more, but that one and my Grado’s are the ones I keep going back to enjoy.
I believe so, but I’ve been lucky so far.
Porta-Pros have a lifetime warranty, and Koss honors it. They’ve replaced my headphones twice. Once they upgraded my headphones because the one I broke was no longer being made. The cost was the cost of shipping, if memory serves. And Porta-Pro’s list for around $50. Worth the postage!
I’ve always had good luck with pawn shop merchandise, not so much with garage sale goods. Pawn shops usually check out stuff before they buy them. As to profiting from someone else’s misfortune, the person who sold the goods was glad to get the money. I used to feel the same way about buying at business closing sales.…
I’ve been very happy with Duluth’s Ballroom Firehose lined jeans. Wear well and fit well. They also have women’s jeans and I’m comfortable recommending them. The firehose material in the waist and cuffs really extends the life and fit. I go barefooted a lot, so most of my jeans have raggedy cuffs around the heels. Not…
My 2003 Honda Civic Hybrid is still going strong at 240,000 miles. While I think a Prius is probably a better hybrid, I don’t have a lot of reason to complain.
One other issue in the refrigerate/don’t refrigerate is the length of the supply chain. An English friend tells me their eggs are stamped with the date they were laid, so you can easily tell how old an egg is. They are rarely more than a day or two old when they are in the store. The hatchery is close to the market…
The reason it took so long to pass the bill was because Obama had the idea he could negotiate with the Republicans and craft a bipartisan bill. He should have crammed single payer down our throats while his super majority still held. There were debates. And they were covered in all the papers and other news outlets.…
Until a bill is passed, there is nothing in it since it can be changed at any time. Look at the CURE bill. Started good, got changed to the point where one of the original sponsors bailed on it.
Gruet is excellent at all price points. Their NV bottles are usually 14 to 16 in stores, and WOOT often has them for around 10 - 11 a bottle. A joker might comment that this is New Mexico’s finest sparkling wine, which is true, but even without that qualification it is good juice. A number of wine experts have…
One other consideration is the length of the supply chain. In the UK eggs are stamped with the date they were hatched, and most customers get their eggs within a few days of hatching. Also, some recipes work better with very fresh eggs, others work better with older eggs. An English friend told me refrigeration “RUINS…
Will this calculator produce reasonable estimates if the party is a Presidential Debate watching “party”?
I picked up an NX-2000 a few years back and really like it. The Samsung’s have larger sensor chips than most of the compeition. It’s sad that Samsung seems to have abandoned the product! Still a fave though!

The local paper did an article on the tax holidays and concluded they didn’t really help shoppers. They saw some items selling for $100 on the tax holiday that were $85 a few weeks later. Even with the 8.25% sales tax, you can save more by shopping carefully.
You’re going to have to go work there every day. As weeks turn into months, chances are good you’ll dread every freaking day.
I guess I’m not a purist, but I’ve been very happy with my Saeco Vienna SuperAutomatic espresso and coffee maker. Very easy, no filters to throw a way, no plastic pods. Put in beans and water and coffee comes out. Some cleaning is required, but not all that often. If you get a more upmarket model you can plumb it into…
