I was hit by a drunk driver running a stop sign in front of our local police station. Police came out and did their thing...but I’m pretty sure he just got a DUI and nothing more. I kind of feel like hitting someone with your car is worse than your typical DUI though...I’m still kind of pissed about it.

Can someone explain farm subsidies to me? I’m genuinely asking, I’m from a city and need some insight.

Well yeah, cause you don’t rely on the LIRR which is a giant pile of shit + the subways. Getting to Manhattan is about an hour (sometimes more) but then once I’m here the subways are also a total clusterfuck. Also, funny you should mention Philly... I’m trying to convince my husband that’s where we should move in a

Its not really about interests. This is where I’m from. I grew up on Long Island and Queens. Is it totally absurd to want to live near my mom? Also, I work in a very niche industry that is great in NY/LA, but non-existent everywhere else.

My daughter is 6 months old and I work for 8-9 hours and commute for 4, so for roughly 13 hours a day I’m away from her. I see her for about 20 minutes in the morning, and 30 at night during the week. That’s why people want to live near where they work. So not every waking hour of my life outside of work isn’t spent

2 hours on public transportation. 2 there and 2 back. 4 hours a day. You think that’s not bad? Damn, your commute must be BRUTAL. The prices in Nassau County where I live (borders Queens and Brooklyn) is $539.2K...not exactly pocket change. We live in a 2 bd apt with our daughter and only stay here because its close

...willing to pay the premiums rather than to live outside the immediate city and commute.”

Anyone here from LI and hate Peter King? HE IS THE WORST. Anyone who supports him...to hell with them.

I think about this a lot when I see those shows about tiny house living...why don’t they just live in an apartment?

I know that and you know that, I was just speculating as to why people are like this. Like I said, I had her, NBD. People adopt kids and they bond too! ALso, I’m editing to add because maybe I didn’t get my point across, that we hear horror stories and people are afraid. But also, if birth was an enormously traumatic

I got in an elevator with 50Cent and he asked me if I had a case of the Monday’s.

*raises hand* I had my baby at a hospital attended by a midwife! The thing I wish people knew about the midwife experience is that she becomes someone you know and trust very deeply. We didn’t have a birth plan or anything because I trusted her and accepted her medical recommendations. I think because of the whole

PRECISELY.

Its not bad storytelling, it was quite good and I was entertained. It just made me wistful for what I envisioned as their futures the first time I saw Return of the Jedi. Not to mention, Han and Luke are dead in the story (sad) and Carrie Fisher is actually dead (INCREDIBLY SAD).

I thought she was great!

I’m allergic to dairy, so there is no milk in my life and I find it easier to just avoid all milk including the alternatives they have now. Real deal or nothing.

Our local cat shelter is called Kitty Cove, and now I just picture her having a Kitty Cove in her house that she watches TV in (full of cat furniture and cats).

YES! OMG thank you for these <3

I love that you bring up Dermot Mulroney and his lack of charm, there’s an excellent podcast from We Hate Movies that hypothesizes that he is in fact a murderer just waiting to kill Cameron Diaz’s character for her money in my Best Friend’s Wedding.

Emmylou! The music was a huge deal to me at the wedding . A friend of my mom’s played the music for the ceremony on guitar and it was great. My husband came out to the Neverending Story theme, I walked in to Emmylou, and we walked out to the Indiana Jones theme.
