From which philosophical standpoint? Philosophy isn’t some single monolithic edifice - it’s many wildly differing schools of thought.

I absolutely hate this. Companies need a 0 tolerance approach for sexism and racism. Instant permanent ban. I don't care if the person "changes" or "learns" - if it'll get you fired from a job it sure as hell should get you removed from a game.
Pick Up Group, aka total strangers.
You 100% can, figuratively speaking the game has a ping system, literally speaking the game has a setting. So it can be turned off, and gameplay can still be very functional without it.
So far in a couple hundred hours of playing I have not encountered a single person that was definitively cheating. Maybe a handful I have wondered about but couldn’t confirm, but it even that is a rarity. I guess thats just the magic of matchmaking. Like I am a pretty middling player, and generally cheaters tend to…
I do not know this term sir, please enlighten me.
So you never PUG? A lot of people do.
So people have to choose if they want teamspeak and deal with abuse or nothing. Sounds shitty. Not good enough obviously.
yea yr right no one plays any team shooters with the voice chat turned off. It definitely hasn’t happened literally millions of times.
I dont get people who compare gendered harasment to regular online harasment. When ever I play alone or with just guys Ill get some toxic assjack occasionaly but honestly not that often. If im playing with any of my friends with traditionally feminine voices (regardless of their gender) I basically become immune to…
Of course, until recently the chance of having that 3rd person be a cheater was also absurdly high too. I’m glad they finally decided to get to work on that, my friend and I bailed on the game shortly after launch because it was just getting ridiculous when combined with the sheer volume of beta bugs they had.
in my experience, blizzard games, riot games and all competitive shooters are the worse. my best community experience to this day is still final fantasy 11. 14 wasn’t bad in my short experience with it either.
yea....you really can lol
Dog whistle is the term you want, not virtue-signaling. :)
And dogwhistles can be added to the list of words to be on the look out for.
That reminds me, I watched this just days ago. What is Ubisoft doing about it?
Why I never, ever, ever turn on voice chat in the very few multiplayer games I play unless I already know everyone else on the line, exhibit #8,463.
That is pretty gross, yeah. I’m not opposed to some kind of strike rule for this type of thing.
You can see in my post history that I praised Valorant highly, I do think it is a well put together and very competitive game. Well, I stopped playing it before this article even posted up—because of how bad the voice and even text got. I have never played League of Legends so I didn’t know what to expect.
I’ve never…
