Here's a scary (human) story for all you online-daters:

I love you aunt, "you could have told me about the ghost!"

Yikes. I wonder why he was in the bag? Once I was driving home with my boyfriend at like two in the morning, and there was this man running around in the middle of the road, screaming and waving. Really weird. We drove past, freaked out, and I told my mom about it. She was like...why didn't you stop? Maybe he needed

I'm mexican and my father's side of the family practices witchcraft. I'm an atheist but I always feel safe when I have cats around. I've had them around my whole life and my grandmother (a witch) had a whole bunch of cats on her property in Mexico. I remember asking her when I was really little, WHY DO CATS LIKE ME?

Maybe because you got out of the house the bad thing never got to happen....

In 2000 we bought our first home in a nice neighborhood in Arizona and watched for months as our beautiful dream home was built before our eyes. Our own brand new home! Who would EVER think it would be haunted, right? Well the very first night in our new house we were excited and super happy. Not to mention that I

I've been really lucky. I haven't had very many truly bizarre supernatural experiences, nor do I want any. My family did have one terrifying time one night when my parents, my brother and I were driving home from my grandparent's house. They live about an hour and a half drive away from us, so we see them regularly,

I love this story b/c I have no doubt that whatever your sister did - totally worked! It probably had nothing to do with a specific place/thing that needed to be sealed - but instead her intention was so pure it worked! I love it.

I already told my ghost story, but as I am reading through I find that I am looking for the non-ghost stories. Mine aren't as spectacular as Hungarian Psychos, but they were pretty abjectly terrifying to me.

Same here!!!! Oh my gosh, I have had countless dreams where I keep locking my deadbolt on my front door as someone is trying to get inside and every time I lock it, that person can somehow unlock it. It is so helpless to watch the lock keep twisting back open.

Are Candy Land and Monopoly mass-produced specifically in order to commune with the dead and otherworldly? No? Behold your answer!

This one is more comforting and strange than scary — perhaps that will be a nice change after reading all these threads?

Are you me? I'm a science based type person with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of how to get rid of certain nasties.

I've never heard the rule that Christians don't believe in ghosts, and I think it sounds awfully silly. There are ghosts and stuff all over the Bible! What's the fun in having religion if you don't get crazy supernatural stuff too?

I don't think I'm haunted, per-say, but I do feel that I and other female members of my family attract the attention of the supernatural.

Unlike a horror movie, they took that as a sign to move rather than try to beat whatever this was and reclaim the house.

OK, so this one isn't about ghosts per se, but is still a little spooky.

My immediate thought was "the ghost does NOT like this guy".

So... mom's originally from Ecuador (although I think the belief exists in many places) and was always told that when someone dies, before their spirit leaves this world, they will visit all the places they've been and loved ones to say goodbye. Sweet, but also kinda creepy... as you'll see.

I found what seemed to be a great apartment on craigslist in the early aughts. It was a spacious two bedroom with an eat-in kitchen, den and living room on the top floor of a triple decker. The rent was reasonable, the roommate seemed cool and the neighborhood was convenient. I was really pleased with the place, even
