That's making the assumption that women "don't want to give up their career". The jobs most japanese women have are soul-crushing long-hour menial office jobs, or part time jobs at all hours of the day. I know Japanese women who'd kill to marry, have kids and become a housewife (and have been looking forward to it

Heck it's even in the lyrics to the Yodobashi camera song that loops over and over and over and over and over in the store

Now playing

I've always been partial to this re-interpretation of the original ad

空想 [くうそう] (n,vs,adj-no) daydream, fantasy, fancy, vision.

I played the video back into my Android phone's voice control, and it gave me list of options starting with: "new york" (?wtf), "weather", and "weather for today". So it shouldn't be impossible, especially since everything Apple do is magical and so much better than everything else.

I'll probably go to the café in the next week or two - already spent a few bills in the shop on the opening day. But then again I also have an order out for 20 copies of their latest single to get handshake tickets…

Now if only wasn't freakin' GLOSSY!

SMS still clog up the (quite limited) call signaling channel, so you should still refrain from frivolous texting when there's a real emergency as it can prevent call setup and other text messages from going through.

"your phone does not receive confirmation that an SMS successfully reached its destination". Not necessarily. Delivery reports are usually turned off on most phones by default, but when turned on, they'll give you a confirmation when the SMS has either arrived at the other terminal, or when the network has cancelled

There's very little reporting being done domestically as well

Except that the Sony Ericsson X10 actually got 2.3 before the HTC Desire did, and Sony Ericsson didn't even have to cut any features due to space concerns. And the X10 still has a far better camera.

And this is why we want phones to be sold separately from plans, unlocked. So that the carriers have NO say in what features do or do not go into the phones.

"People with higher education AND equivalently qualified jobs". That "screw the poor people, they're all just idiots/lazy anyway and deserve to suffer" attitude is another aspect of the problem. Everyone here get those benefits, and somehow it hasn't disincentivized people to not work to get more qualified jobs. E.g.

Reading these comments it doesn't surprise me at all that America is the shittiest place to work in the developed world. You guys are never going to get decent vacation time, healthcare, maternity/paternity benefits, education, etc with the attitude you display here towards organizing to collective improve worker

I picked up a Nokia N8 the other day, and in some situations it beats my point-and-shoot (Panasonic TZ10). E.g. [imgb.mp] (left to right: Nokia N8, Panasonic TZ-10, Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i)

Sweden, which is on that map, has an even lower population density than the U.S.

This says "service costs" though, so I imagine it includes usage as well as the base rate. Also when comparing to european plans, you need to halve the U.S. plans' package limits since americans also pay for incoming, which is always free everywhere else

Here in Sweden where Spotify launched, Spotify is now the single-largest source of income for the record labels.
