But let’s not pretend that IV through VI were cinematic masterpieces. They are massively entertaining and I love them dearly, but they would be as hated by critics (maybe even more so) as Episodes I-III had they been released in the same era. The acting, direction and plot were far from Oscar-worthy. The overall

Great point. Star Wars was never meant to be “deep.” Lucas said all along one of his main influences were the original Flash Gordon serials.

Kids fucking LOVE Episodes I and II, like... A LOT. They think Jar-Jar is hilarious.

“This is a fictional universe, full of fictional people and places and things and entirely at the whim of its creators. You don’t own it. You have no say in what happens within it. You refuse to be entertained because something doesn’t fit within your preconceived notions. (Episode I is objectively terrible though).

I’m not insulted by his opinion, but I offended that he presents his opinions as sacrosanct fact and that disagreeing somehow makes you not a real Star Wars fan.

Thing is, the author isn’t talking about his opinions as opinions, he’s presenting them as fact, and anyone who disagrees is someone who just doesn’t GET IT, man.

Yes. Don’t act like everyone is in agreement that they all suck, thereby dismissing as crazy anyone who disagrees. I hate that attitude. I’m a super-fan, and I love the prequels, especially Episodes II and III. I easily prefer those to A New Hope and Return of the Jedi.

I actually quite like Episode III. It serves as a great “mid-point” in the six episodes of the original full “saga.”

Episode I is objectively bad in many, many ways. II has a couple of fun moments, and honestly, it’s “fun.”

Hi. I’m a Star Wars fan, but I’m not arrogant enough to think that I have ownership over something I didn’t have a hand in creating.

Plinkett’s reviews were funny but sucked otherwise. There’s little logic to them as far as reviews, and he even consistently states blatant falsehoods. But they’re fucking hilarious.

1 was a decent movie. Not up to Star Wars level, but a decent movie. 2 was a crappy attempt at combining an action film and a chick flick, and was terrible. 3 was a good movie with terrible acting turning a potential great movie into only good.

Zahn, Stackpole, and a few others put out some great EU books. But for the most part the old EU was standard schlock that sold because of the Star Wars name, and some books like The Crystal Star were absolutely wretched.

Yeah, if you think “the prequels were an insult” then go get punched in the face.

I’m a pretty big Star Wars fan. I consumed the Dark Horse comics, many of the novels, and so on.

There exists a world where the phrase “Master Race” is potentially about something other than white supremacy. This is not that world.

It’s obviously Frank Miller’s cameo. A right-leaning dick.

Don’t forget that in Dark Knight Strikes Again, Old Bats enters into a relationship with the sixteen year old Carrie.

I think mocking people who looked at the stand-in’s dick and thought it was on the small side is probably a better place to start.

Seriously. I’m looking at him thinking, he’s in decent shape and for a flaccid dick it’s not small. I don’t know, man.
