Towing yes. Payload no.

This $20,000 price point is absurd. Here’s our new-to-us $8k 300ZX. Patience, luck and an adventurous spirit pays off.

2019 is still practically new.. Plenty of used cars can be found under $20k a better way to gauge this would be a search for cars < 10years old and < 100k miles. THEN see what you get. plenty of options. quick search on autotrader came up with over 1200 results

Friend purchased a 2004 Nissan Ultima for 4K 4 years ago. Recently got hit by delivery truck running a light. No one hurt but the car is a write off. Insurance paid out 5k.

Maybe at dealerships, yeah, but there are a ton of deals to be had sub 20k on places like Facebook Marketplace.  I’m not one to advocate for Facebook, but trying to sell a car on there I was able to see what is available and it was honestly very surprising what was available.

Just sold a 2002 4Runner 4WD that I bought 2 years ago for $7500 for a $7500 2008 Lincoln Navigator 4WD. Both were in great condition, the Lincoln has 80k less miles as well. There are plenty of good used vehicles under 20k, I do it quite often for the fun of trying different vehicles.

GR Corolla makes a lot of sense. Lighter weight over snow, plus it can fit someone 6'7" with a helmet.

How is the F-Type R not on this list?

The Lexus LC will still be around in 40 years and can drive in the rain. The teenagers can drive themselves. Get them the Corolla.

Well with BMW, or other high strung luxury cars, it’s not the 4 years out you need to worry about it’s the 10 years out, the after the warranty expires part lol.  That’s when you are on the hook for what are typically, or have been in the past, very expensive repairs.

These asks are getting kind of ridiculous. “Dear Jalopnik, I need your advice. I am looking for a high performance supercar that fits 10 passengers, can go off-roading, gets 40 MPG or more, can carry 6 mountain bikes and 4 kayaks, and costs under 30k. What should I get?”

Mercedes E Class Wagon

F-type AWD. Red. String-backed driving gloves. Bond-style rear rack for skis. CD of Clarkson clips saying ‘Jaaaaaaaag’.

You guys are missing the point. The correct answer is a Euro-import 1990/1991 Audi Ur-Quattro with the 20v RR engine. It’s a classic, only came with a manual, has lots of room, very quick for the time (get it chipped & tuned to 300+ HP), AWD, and it’s a true, understated sports car for the discerning driver. As long

If you are in a rental car and don’t know the area, especially alone...please don’t go “exploring”. This, stupid people and animal encounters, and slip and falls are about 95% of all SAR efforts.

I’d imagine Nissan won’t be be making this as a limited production model. Good thing for them is, they won’t even have to. No one will buy this anyway. Did a major disservice by 1. No manual. And 2. Bumping the power up on a twin turbo car by 20hp when the N/A 370z nismo was bumped 18hp. What a letdown. What happened

This misses the point entirely. As with anything, you pay for quality, ease or comfort. To solve a problem. Can you sleep in a tent? Yes, will it do exactly the same job? yes. Does it have problems? Yes. why would someone desire a workshop? A driveway allows for the same work to be done, it will save you thousands,

What you might find is that one removes the front engine brace and uses a ratchet strap to rotate the engine forward. There is always a way.

Weird. Normal people don’t want to buy a $50k car with 7% interest rates, tech that’s outdated faster than a modern smartphone, a business model that’s constantly pushing microservices, and tracks all your movements with no way to opt out or find out where that information is going?

The more things change, the more they stay the same. In place of trained technicians repairing technologically advanced vehicles, we have the internet at our disposal. I was genuinely concerned about the DIY repairability of my G30 540i as I’m not much for dealership work outside of warranty. I’ve since discovered a
