It’s a matter of being inattentive and lacking the ability to properly operate the vehicle that they are in control of.

Ok, so that’s not a horrible suggestion. It’s just the styling is ugly, and I need more hybrid chops since my commute is 30 minutes over 6 miles of stop and go. During the weekends I visit the next big metropolitan area over 330 miles away.

A plane ticket to another city might be better.

Another note, I’m looking for a replacement for my 2004 xB, an 87WHP, 5-speed manual, low CG, lightweight (2,425lbs), corner carving, urban runabout that’s only missing a modern hybrid power plant and cruise control.

You f’d up. The GX470 could’ve been had for 5k 2 years ago with 200k on the clock. Now all the overland wannabes are scarfing them up.

To be fair it’s because visibility is total crap when you’re behind a truck/SUV. So then others get a higher riding vehicle to see and block the view for even more people who then buy a higher riding vehicle.

One consideration for folks is that owning 4 cars in California is sorta expensive in terms of bogus registration fees and insurance.  So getting just a more expensive car is certainly an option that fulfills the daily driver and track car role.
