> Osaka is as dangerous a player as Andreescu, if less complete.

This is exactly right. Osaka has fewer weapons than Andreescu, but the weapons she does have are extremely potent.

My five year prediction is that Andreescu is going to edge Osaka in terms of both H2H and titles, but that it will be a compelling race.

> Shave between showering and getting dressed.

No, shave IN the shower, unless you have fancy facial hair that needs precision cutting.

I use an electric shaver to trim the only part of my face for which I need accuracy (sideburns), then wet-shave in the shower. It is much, MUCH easier than shaving over a sink. You

> Entering from the back of the lot and parking in the first spot you see is inefficient because it requires a lot of walking.

So long as the car park isn’t a hell-hole, fume-laden and/or super busy, I don’t see this as being a big issue. Walking is nice, and good for you. I tend to take the first spot I see that

Cuh. If you were born into it, you’d call it The Great British Bake Off.

Yeah, I do that wherever there are no paper towels available. The old “corner of shirt then hook open with foot” manoeuvre.

Most bathroom doors open inwards.

That was actually for the film with Bane rather than The Joker.

Or let's go back even further, to Peeping Tom. (Good Scorsese connection there, as well )

No, that’s only one of several possible models. A tenseless model is also viable, which would feature causal loops.

The first 25 episodes of BG rank among the finest of any TV show ever made.

But it’s usually not them you’ll be sitting next to. If there are a block of 3 seats, and you have the aisle seat, you’re obviously not the one stopping two people being together, unless one of them has the middle seat in your block, and the other is elsewhere on the plane and wants your aisle seat. In which case,

I get angry at other drivers not for being deliberate assholes, but for failing to realize they’re contributing to collective action problems. It drives me into a rage and I’ve been known to gesticulate, yell and use my horn. They’re probably just confused and frightened at this apparent psycho, when in their own mind

Pretty sure this is just called “being a guy”.

Ehh, I always sit on the end of the row at the Stag, and the sound’s absolutely fine.

California/Marin:
HOAs setting their fees way too low, to attract new buyers, then hitting them with huge special assessments every few years to compensate for the inevitable shortfalls.

It’s amazing that he’s given the scene this kicking without even understanding it. The journalist suddenly realizes that the paranoia he’s talking about was triggered by 9/11. The locked cockpit is a legacy of 9/11. And two of the four planes hijacked on 9/11 were United. This is a United plane. These people most

Good. They were a pack of wankshafts.

It feels like half an argument. People aren’t likely to move out to southern Idaho just because they have a $1k check coming in every month. Or, at least, those who do would not have been the ones trying to elbow each other aside to find rental places in the Bay Area. I suppose at a push it might free up more retirees
