Is there a reason why this advice is particularly geared towards girls or important for them? Are girls told about being scientists whereas boys are just told about concepts of science?
When I was a kid I don’t remember science discussions talking much about scientists as people at all. It was all about “electricity

Correct.

Anecdotally I would say that many Tesla fans treat this kind of thing like living during wartime: you want to pitch in to help the war effort. Electric vehicles, better batteries and solar panels feel like they could make a huge difference to the carbon footprint of western societies, and if Tesla go out of business

All of this is written as though assuming a person is going to be retiring on their own rather than with a partner. One of the biggest difficulties in going the FIRE route is having a partner who’s both willing and able to match your goals. If they aren’t, your plans may not count for very much.

Huh?

I want to play an open-world game with no cutscenes. I fucking hate cutscenes, and I dislike games that rely on them to propel narrative.

Hush time now for baby. Fingers on lips.

I’m not American. And just as well if you represent the country’s youth.

Err, yes...that was the point.
Is your real name Peacecap Johnson, by chance?

You can’t argue at all; you just post links.

So presumably the other slogans he was considering included:
“Back to Normal”
“Status Quo Ante”
“Not As Useless As George”

He was crap.

Emma Watson can’t.

A reasonable list. Not clear to me why Amy Adams is on it.

Cage is an interesting case. You can only deploy him in very specific kinds of movies with very specific unhinged performances in mind. But he’s great in those. I mean, his performance in Leaving Las Vegas is a thing of wonder.

He says the complete opposite.

No Australians are called “Chet”.

About what?

No it didn’t. I’m talking about the feedback loop of capitalism moving a subset of the population to a point where they don’t need to work at all because their capital does all the work for them in the form of investments. This is exacerbated further by regulatory capture and political corruption (bribes).
