Now Trish can finally get that “I betrayed and alienated everyone I care about and all I got in return are these lousy powers” t-shirt.

I just realized something, if there was no magical healing boy then how did Inez get better?

Toby may not be the Strangler, but he still finds ways to raise the suicide rate across the country:

And yet this somehow still isn’t as messed up as Trish has been in the comics (basically committing suicide over marrying the son of the devil), though there was at least more coherent buildup for that.

this season has the exact opposite problem of the first season.

btw, that’s Dan Gurewitch, writer for ‘Last Week Tonight’, formerly CollegeHumor.

I don’t care enough about the characters to be really upset about changes but I have to ask, does a story about two street kids getting powers by some assholes using experimental drugs on them really not strong enough a premise for a TV show? They needed to keep them in their homes and add their family lives and

also, token Stan Lee cameo in case you missed him on a poster on a back of a bus (“Forbush and Associates got me $5.2 million”)

look, I can’t really get behind Trish’s over the top meltdown (though still somewhat believable because she is taking “super steroids”) since it is another example of how unfocused this season is.

I think the biggest sin this episode commits as a flashback is that it doesn’t offer anything new.

Huh, they brought in a straight up mad scientist from the comics (though, a relatively obscure one), one with a tendency of mixing human and animal DNA even.

Sorry, but ridiculousness of the whole “you people” exchange between a black detective and Jessica made me think of this (to the point where I wonder if it was intentional)

Because that secret phone call Griffin made was so over the top I’m going to go with an equally over the top explanation:

It can also be just that the boyfriend is really worried about Trish that he starts looking into her case to make sure she is alright (which is probably gonna lead to him getting himself killed), though that is probably the least likely scenario.

FINALLY this show gets a little more dynamic and focused by the end of the third episode.

I had a really hard time keeping focus on this episode.

is this even legal?

The part about this season I am most concerned with in this season is them playing up the whole “Secret Origins” angle.

- If you want to read more about how Thrawn rose to power read the excellent new Thrawn novel (which will also be getting a sequel soon, that will be interesting to see what era it is set in because the first novel ended pretty close to right before Thrawn showed up on ‘Rebels’)
