What I like and admire about Japanese game blogs is the fluidity they move between video game stuff and, basically, whatever they think is interesting. They’re rooted in gaming, but they cast a wide net that includes obvious related topics like manga and anime as well as seemingly unrelated ones like politics,

Counter-point: a dude literally wandering from town to town in search of his son, fighting to stay alive in a shitty world not of his making, is actually not a bad use of the song at all.

I wonder who designed them...

I was hoping Alton Brown was a villain, considering his two videos on how to juice a watermelon.

It’s commercialisation that keeps them vibrant and relevant, though. There’s only so much room for open air museums in prime real estate areas. Better to put those historical buildings to good use, while still respecting their architectural heritage.

I love assembling IKEA furniture! It’s like carpentry where all the hard parts are done for you. Hammer some shit, screw some shit in, and bam! You have made furniture.

Actually, in the testpunch ZL/ZR were mapped to left and right punch (as well as A/B). I still hope you can remap buttons, though, since pressing the left stick to shield isn’t very easy in a fight

Man, between this and crashing when his wife was chasing him who’d have thought that driving would be the part of his game that left him first.

Alright everybody, we all know that every surface is made of triangles in most 3d games. The beauty of Pannankoek’s explanatory videos is that he starts from first precepts and builds up our understanding of how he approaches reverse engineering Mario 64. It may be elementary sounding, yes, but it’s in service of
