For the most part I am 100% with you on this, much to the irritation of a lot of folks I know…but the other side of the "F'em argument, we'll do our own" is a sort of ceding the point/self-segregation…followed by silliness like:

"Changing the default" - this is interesting, let's look at this and see if our understanding is the same:
It for one serves to demonstrate how long the issue has existed and to highlight how the *core root cause* has not changed, just the implementation.
This reply is interesting to me…it seems to indicate, in a way, that talking about the problem is the problem or part of the root cause.
