if youre riding that far back and forth to work you dont use a shit tier walmart bike.  good bikes are 4-7k.  you can get cheap ass ebikes too.  you can get a basic one for about a grand.  

a good normal bike doesnt cost peanuts. theyre about the same as an ebike. something like a cervelo soloist is gonna run me about the same as a lemond prolog

if i lived and worked in the same town id love to ride an ebike. we do have one dude that rides a normal ass bike but he lives about a mile away and one insane kiwi who rides from where i live sometimes which is nearly 30 miles away. but within 5-10 miles i wouldnt mind at all. it would only take 20 minutes or so.

my moms got a cx9 with the low hp turbo4 in it.  but it also runs on 87 and feels damn good driving around town.  she still gets 30mpg.  and since shes bought it they decided super was worth 1$ more a gallon instead of the 30c it used to be so its saved her a ton in gas money over her previous xc90.
