Jesus, I played a lot of CounterStrike in... 2003. It shocks me how many people still play that game after all this time.

1. Home is not prison for all men—many actually enjoy taking care of their families and home. Where are your "suicide risk" stats?
You must be fun at parties.
No one is saying only men are capable of rape and harassment. You want to talk about male victims of rape - then do so somewhere that is specifically for that. Like here - http://groupthink.jezebel.com/when-men-are-r…
Actually the only times I've seen the "feminists think all men are insane" meme lately has been from posts like yours, often during floods of responses to any and all mention of #yesallwomen .
That is a load of crap. We directly oppose this idea, in no small part because too often law enforcement and courts reject accusations of rape if the accuser isn't reacting "the right way."
I really wonder if it is a lack of empathy and perspective that many men don't seem to consider what it is like to live in a world where nearly half of the population is significantly stronger and faster than you.
Yes, I am talking about women, because I think this is an issue that particularly impacts women.
You are told that you are very important and need to be far more careful than any guy when walking outside.
The systemic abuse you describe tends to be committed by people who have power against people with less power. Most cultures have been and still are socially male dominated, so the pattern reflects the dynamics of that power structure.
I am sorry you have had those experiences.
I forgot guys; we should really pick our character names:
Guys. For $2 I will kill you off on my Tumblr devoted to Jezebel commenter fanfic. Be the first one to die in the next edition of my hit series "Lesbian Shitasses 3: Problematic Lentils and Diva Cups."
It's really interesting how many people here can't even bring themselves to call what happened to Craster's daughters what it was — pack rape by rapists. When you play the Game of Euphemistic Hand-Waving, rape culture wins. Everyone else dies.
This is such an important point. I've talked to a number of people who haven't seen the show yet who are turned off by the reputation for gratuitous sex and violence that t has, and won't try the books either for that exact reason. It's really sad to me that this growing theme of pushing the boundaries through rape…
I'm fine with blaming everyone but Martin. The show is starting to make the books look worse than they are, and I think it's noteworthy (and increasingly disturbing) that just about every time the show departs significantly from the books it's so they can add more heavily sexualized violence. I'm starting to get a…
Right. If we were only allowed to consume and enjoy products and media that had no problematic aspects . . . there wouldn't be much left to consume or enjoy.
My problem with the Jaime/Cersei rape scene didn't arise until after a couple episodes aired after that scene. At first I totally bought the notion that "oh the directors and writers want to remind us that Jaime isn't just some character being redeemed and good, he's still a pretty messed up douchebag."
I just want to say this, for all the good it will do:
So we're not allowed to discuss when entertainment does something problematic? Hell, I DID stop watching the show, but I'm still going to discuss WHY I stopped because it does matter to bring up these criticisms.
