Despite the fact that I have deep ties with Google's ecosystem, Spotify Family is the reason I won't be switching to Google Music. I have five Spotify Premium subscriptions (family / friends) and it only costs us $30 a month. Even if Google matched it, I don't see the point in switching. People still watch music

So you think it is okay to dig up personal information on a journalist who had the temerity to report the actual words that came out of your actual mouth when you talked to them? Because that is what the Uber CEO threatened to do. He said some awful things, and then got pissed off when those awful things got reported.

oh that sounds more fun yes lets do this

Let's throw Asston Doucher into a ditch instead.

Oh, Ashton. Never change. Never change.

I came to the comments for the sheer reason of looking for other Judge John Hodgman listeners. #BananaManoftheSouthboundKennebunkServicePlaza

What the flippity fuck is wrong with this company??

Nope. She (and Pando) are simply reporting on things these guys actually said. Often, things they said on the record in interviews. You can't get mad at someone for accurately reporting the actual words that came out of your mouth.

Wrong, Ashton. Sarah Lacy never doxxed these guys or wrote anything smeary about their personal lives. That is what they wanted to do to her. That is not how journalism works.

Judge John Hodgman is an upstanding dude, he has to be since he rules internet court.

Uber at this point feels like something that Hodgman would satirically advertise back during his time on The Daily Show.

Arianna Huffington is awfully quiet about this. She was there and she pays a journalist or two, doesn't she? Would HuffPo bloggers have been immune due to her connections?

Um, no. Blackmail is not justified. You seriously think that collecting dirt on someone in order to force them to write nicer things about you is OK?

Hey Ashton

But boycotts don't work, so why bother? Right?

Hodgman is a mensch, the evil mustache to the contrary!

oh hey great a company that promises to ruin a journalist / any WOMAN speaking out against their service keeps your credit card info. nice. used to think I only had to worry about hackers breaking into systems, now ya gotta worry about the system itself.

I already quit Uber months ago, and I really only ever used it in the first place if Lyft wasn't available or when they offered crazy low rates. But if I could quit again, I would.

Good for you, Hodgeman!

Whenever I see Hodgman's face I think of August Clementine from Parks and Rec. Which makes this story just that much better.
