ashley
When they saved Ashley over Miranda, I thought for sure it was just because they wanted to give her a chance to dance with someone other than Chris. Her solo looked so halfhearted, though I learned many seasons back I never have any idea what they'll think is a good solo.

Yeah, the mom's office confused me, too. I had no idea she worked at City Hall, let alone 10 steps from Leslie. And if that's the case, how could she never have seen/encountered Ben before?

I totally read it the cynical way, too, though it's ambiguous enough that they've left it open for any number of resolutions. I do think you get a hint from that scene that her gut instinct is to always put her career first, which seems ominous.

I did this for an entire summer once. The room looked pretty much exactly like that. Is there a rule you have to scan old documents in a room with no windows?

Jose missing from opening?
Last week, I didn't think I saw Jose in the opening number. This week I'm *sure* he wasn't in it. I paused several times and could ID the 10 dancers as Lauren, Kent, Adechike, Robert and 6 all-stars. Can anyone back me up on this?

Tami's advice
Did anyone else wonder if Tami was telling the truth when she told Becky the advice she'd give her daughter? Would she support Julie having an abortion? I sometimes think I could live my life by the mantra, "What would Tami Taylor do?" (especially after the masterful way she handled Glenn's drunken kiss)

matt and julie
Loved how their goodbye echoed the scene in S1's "I Think We Should Have Sex" when they tell each other "I love you" for the first time in the car. (And wasn't there also a similar scene in the car after they finally did have sex in season 3?) So poignant.

Any SYTYCD fans?
Was that Courtney Galliano as one of the dancing pregnant girls? (in the teal hoodie)

Sean's ramble
I agree it was incomprehensible, but I thought he was making a joke about not thanking his wife last year? It was something like, the Academy and I have something in common — not acknowledging a great actress. I dunno, that's my best guess.

the anti-porn tirades
I know not everyone's into porn, but the C&C lectures felt so over the top, especially the way they ignored other criticisms of porn (like, say, exploiting women) to fixate on the stars' marriage. Porn isn't illegal; plenty of people in the industry have happy, functional marriages; and what a

Buffy & Riley 4eva
Seriously, will anyone else own up to actually liking the Buffy/Riley romance? This arc of episodes from Hush to the end are among the ones I re-watch most simply because I really like their chemistry. I know this puts me in a very small minority of fans, but I'm just curious if there's anyone else

It may have been an Emmy grab, but I'm sticking with Addiction. Especially after seeing it again last night, and comparing it side-by-side with the cancer dance. I remember watching the intro to Addiction, with Kupono crying, and kind of rolling my eyes, but I thought it totally earned all the emotions. Strip away the

I tend to agree that the butt dance worked *because* of Evan, and not in spite of. I think with a more aggressively masculine dancer, it would have seemed too creepy. (Although, knowing Mia, that was probably what she was going for!) Evan's personality, and their particular chemistry, is what kept it from crossing

didn't horatio get fired …
from SNL in the 2006 cutbacks, along with Chris Parnell? This article makes it sound like he quit. I'd be interested to hear him talk about that, especially since they bring him back every once in a while, which always seems like it would be awkward.

I was a huge fan of the show, saw it 3 times live, including with the original cast. One of the reasons Rent was so lauded on Broadway was that it was fairly low-budget, production-wise. Audiences who were used to seeing outrageously over-the-top sets and costumes, and to come into a theater and see just a small band

Piece of Me
I think the line is "Mrs. She's Too Big/Now She's Too Thin."

Street
The wonderful Coach/Street scene reminded me just why I love this show so much. I knew it was something special when the paralyzed quarterback became a main character, not just a convenient plot device in the pilot. And while I enjoyed the scenes with Jason as a Panthers coach last season, I love that it wasn't
