Remember in 2008 when the global economy lost a wheel? Motorsports funding evaporated. Even if VW does F1 net zero. They may not have the marketing budget. Imagine that. Diesel is both the thing that makes them winners and takes them out.
If you had money to burn every single one of you would be out there driving badly. I know I would and I think it’s awesome. Everybody back away from the keyboard and get out on the racetrack! For very little money you can do HPDE. Eventually you can race. Then you will understand why these guys act so “foolishly”.…
If this livery gets teens into Indy car or even just racing I’m all for it.
The 25 hours of thunder hill is actually a great race for this car. Admittedly a little low brow for guys who race exotics at Nurburgring but by no means is it a guaranteed win. The race gets plenty of respect from US based teams. It gets bigger and more global every year.

Thanks for the online coverage schedule. Online live broadcast is the future of motor racing coverage. It's cheap for the producer and consumer. The viewership is instantly documented for the advertisers supporting the race. It's a win win win!
Sebring is rough and breaks well developed cars, but 25 laps mean time to failure is clearly not going to cut it. Nissan were testing at COTA before this correct? If they are doing another test that tells me they did not even have a good baseline setup and the running well comments are a little hollow. Starting from…
I am glad to see Manor Marussia making a resurgence, but keeping the grids full is not going to make F1 fun to watch. F1 needs a formula change. Racing in any series is often about the guy with the most money wins. In F1 the guys with the most money always win. That's not racing that's banking.
That is a proper GT3 car. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but a techno /turbo hybrid v6 is just not as fun as a ground pounding normally aspirated v8. Turbos and hybrids are great for saving fuel. Racing is about burning fuel just for fun. Nice job Mercedes. Can't wait to see them race the Perelli world challenge.
Anyone have details how the car stacks up against the prototypes out on the track during these photo shoots? I love the idea of a road worthy prototype/ race car. I am sure this makes a superlative track day car. Just wondering what North American series you could race it in.
Awesome concept sir. Tape the headlights and race. I believe in that concept. Here I am racing my own version of a street legal super unlimited race car.
I did consider that the difuser came off. And I agree this is probably not a cutting edge DP car. Just seems weird that they would not use a low drag downforce tools on the bottom of the car on such a high speed track.
Interestingly this car doesn't have a rear diffuser
The free international broadcast was an excellent idea. Liqui-moly has no brand recognition here in the US. Now I know them. Bathurst was unknown to me. Now I lust to race there . Sponsors got their money's worth
It's also not a good sign that the new ownership will do any better than the previous ones who've floundered through recent years.
We all want good racing. Locking engine providers into a design might save money, but making the "power unit" complex as hell was not exactly a cost save. I want to see every supplier have a shot at winning a race. Complex rules never work. Just limit one thing on the engine. Fuel, air what ever. Then let folks be…
Now I know there will be plenty of haters out there, but here is your next car.
