Waiting patiently for the crash test videos.......

It’s not like other companies haven’t messed with the original design when coming out with retro revivals of classic cars. Like front water cooled engined VW Beetles and Minis, which used to be mini, but aren’t so “Mini” anymore.

Of course he can’t get any traction. He’s running those big-ass oversized donk rims.

It’s mounted up near the ceiling, so with my head on a pillow, I’m looking in that direction anyway. On your side, that’s a different matter.

I did that with my bedroom TV, but I’m laying in bed while I watch it so it’s more like the TVs you see in hospitals and works out pretty good.

Came here to post this, but you got here ahead of me. Lots of live feeds on that channel, and I like the fact that it’s live, and not a recording. I think most of them are from Norway and Japan. I wish they were a little more clear on where each one comes from.

It’s weird enough to be riding in a car with no driver and no controls. Don’t make me have to ride backwards as well.

It’s probably so GM doesn’t have to go through all of the safety stuff, crash tests, and the other certification stuff when certifying a new car. It’s just a first step after all.

It’s a good thing he got the optional mud guards!

An early post-war French car that looks weird and ugly? Who would have thought?

You can always just set the auto-wiper function to “off”. That’s what I would do if I owned any car with that feature. I do that with the auto headlights and auto-dimmers on my car. I never leave it on auto. If I don’t know enough to turn my lights on or dim my lights when needed, then I don’t need to be driving at

Well, the way we did it was that we looked at a defect, the way something did it’s job, a manufacturing issue, or a particular problem that has been reported or found by us. We looked at what effect that issue would have on the customer and if it needed fixing at all. Then we would list suggestions as to how to fix

I’ve never owned a car with rain sensing wipers. I’m perfectly capable of turn them on when it rains, and turning them off when it’s not. The same goes for automatic headlight dimmers and automatic climate controls. People I’ve known with those features, even on the same make/model/year as my cars have had issues with

So, what car do you drive now that is perfect, has no defects or problems, and “got it right the first time”? Just curious because I’ve never owned a car that was perfect right out of the box.

You’re right in that I originally misunderstood your post, and I corrected my reply to it about a minute after I posted it. Not sure if that’s the one you saw, or the corrected one. Either way, my bad. Your way would work just as well.

You’re right. As much as I love Teslas, Elon seems to have a thing about weird doors and handles. I would prefer a simple and cheaper manual handle to open doors from both the inside and outside. The outside ones on the Model 3 are more conventional and actually similar to what GM used on the ‘69 Pontiac Grand Prix

I don’t see why the wipers need to cycle at all, actually. I was talking about just eliminating that step, or disabling the wipers if the door was open. There may be a time when you want them to work even if your seat belt wasn’t on, like if you are parked but still in the car.

I’ve spent my adult life in the field of quality control and quality assurance for major companies. We don’t criticize something without also commenting on the cause, the effect, and having some idea how to fix it or make it better.

Yeah. I don’t know why Teslas cycle the wipers when the car is turned on. It could be to let you know they are set to automatic, or to test the system, but you’re right in that it’s not really needed. And it’s a simple OTA software fix for it too. No need for a dealer visit.
