Exclusivity. Subjective opinions on styling. Handling, small size, and light weight vs loads of power and 0-60 times. Steering feel and driver engagement. Reliable Camry engine. Supercharged joy. No unnecessary tech, a true focus on driving.

You understand the Lotus.
.The Lotus Evora is the opposite of the Corvette because it makes do with much less and it is focused on the driver. Plus it has an optional manual gearbox that the Corvette now lacks. This cars reason for existing is the pure experience of driving. It’s not about the lap times or the zero-60 times, IMO.
Exactly. Not that I’d let it stop me If I had the budget, but the 911 is for many owners just a status symbol, not much different than a Range Rover or whatever. Whereas a Lotus is a car that just straight up says “I really like driving (and also have a ton of disposable income)”
I guess you haven’t read the comments.
I own an ND Miata and I’d buy a Lotus over an ND if I didn’t care about autocross classing.
The ND Miata is lacking in steering feedback compared to earlier Miatas and no Miata compares to a Lotus.
I see Miatas often. I *never* see Lotus of any type on the street and it’s even rare on track or at autocross.
I love my…
Rarity and twice the horsepower.
3 pedal experience in today’s age is PRICELESS !
$40k for a third pedal seems like a bargain these days.
the reasons you listed almost all point you in the direction of a Miata as well. Why not just get one of those instead?
I 2nd all of these points.
1) Lotus has the best steering feedback. The Corvette has the worst.
This will be much more nimble on the track I would imagine. If you have some good driving skills, you can probably take advantage. For the average one of us, yeah, it’s likely overkill.
The purists choice who finds the selection of $100k Porsches a little too common. The very fact that Lotus still makes a manual Evora devoid of frippery and useless tech should be reason alone for enthusiasts to rejoice.
I know youre going to get this question for every $100K+ (mid , rear, front, engine).. sports car to come down the pike in the next 18 months...Besides the manual and the availability?... why would one pay $40k more over a C8?..
Every serious road-racer bicyclist has a jersey that is branded like they are in the peleton. Maybe it’s the same thing.
I don’t really deserve one, period.
The Valkyrie looks like a Group C car for the street and I love it.
CP.
Not sure about Gulf blue, but I approve the “barge board” livery!
