Take your star, you clever bastard.

By far the coolest GT1 homologation special before the end. Too bad it was unreliable on the track though.

Given Toyota doesn’t build any sports cars (86=Subaru, Supra+BMW), I guess future Camrys will be getting a lot of track-tested technology.

On the WEC 2020 regulations presentation it is said that the thermal engine will have 750hp.

Oh Jesus...now we get to deal with the daily deluge of Jalopnik articles about “THE NEW MID-ENGINE SUPRA SPOTTED IN PUBLIC FOR 450th TIME!!!” like they did with the ‘Vette.

I believe the Toyota budget for their TSO50 is well over 9 figures. The budget for the new class is expected to be somewhere below $20m.

Even when the Super Sport concept was unveiled last year they showed it has a chassis and drive train so it’s no surprise it’s getting some track action.

Nope, it is 750 max hp, if you have electric motors they can be max of 270 or 250hp but total output is 750hp.

I wanna see it alongside their 1998 GT-ONE

BMW will always run in the USA under the RLL banner, as it should be.

Is it

And if the limitations do actually allow privateer teams to keep up with the works teams, I’m all for it.

... in the GTPro class maybe...

They’ve only killed the Euro half. The free half lives on in the land of big SUVs!

Cost, reliability (they have to go full-bore for 24 hours, remember), and limiting top speeds to “the driver probably won’t die”.  I’m cool with a 750hp + 270hp hybrid limit, especially with less downforce and drag than the current LMP1 class.  Top speeds should go up, corner speeds should go down a bit, and we’ll

Well they’ve killed the “Big M8" program, so they should have the bandwidth.

Well played, gave me a chuckle.

Ask BMW

Why did the ACO and FIA feel like nerfing these hypercars by about 250 hp? Are they too scared that the privateers won’t be able to catch up?

I just want to know if we can get a GRMN Supra in the GTE-Pro category
