I'll say this to any naysaying or critiques: Little Black girls are ALL about this movie. I was in the theatre to see "The Hobbit", and moms and grannies were there with their charges and their friends and they were happy as pigs in shit to be there. And I was happy for them.

It's the combination of eagerness to please and sudden violence that makes Suzanne such a suspenseful character. Every time she comes on screen, you can't wait to see what she'll do, because there's no predictability.
