Why does this series HAVE to have gay characters? Why does it have to have a female lead, or a black character? If the writers are forcibly trying to fit certain types of characters in scripts for shows, that’s wrong. I mean I hope there isn’t some kind of checklist somewhere when you are writing a pilot for a show:
